BePi available in extended range version

Date: 31-07-2009

ATech's BePi, the multipurpose MIFARE® reader-writer is now available in the extended range version. The new version is targeting the niche applications using extremely low efficiency or bad signal tags as for example wrist tags used in Spa's.

After almost two years since its introduction to the market BePi is now available also in the extended range version. The reason for this new version is for customers to have a reliable reading also for tags featuring poor performing antennas. While the standard "BePi 2" reliably reads and writes MIFARE® RFID cards within the 30mm range measured from the top of the product, there are some tags where the reading and writing reliability proved to be less than 100%. This phenomenon is limited to particular tags and was so far noted on a particular wrist tag model only, where in additional to the small antenna, the tag is also encapsulated in a thick silicone overlayer thus increasing the distance between the antennas.

The new extended range version of "BePi 2" is called "BePi 2ER" and features reliable reading and writing of MIFARE ® RFID cards within the 50mm range, an almost 70% improvement with respect to the standard version. More important, BePi 2ER reliably reads and writes also underperforming tags.

Of course all the features and benefits the market appreciated in "BePi 2" are available also in the extended range "BePi 2ER". This new version reads and writes MIFARE® UltraLight, 1k, 4k and Mini compatible cards for applications like limited-use tickets in public transport, event ticketing, leisure parks, access control and other. BePi 2ER is available from stock at the same price as the BePi 2 while BePi 2 is now available at a more attractive price.
