ATech with UNGC for the creating of sustainable products

The UN Global Compact Slovenia Organization held a meeting of its members titled "Creation of sustainable products and services" on November the 5th 2009 in Ljubljana. The purpose of the event, hosted by Mercator Group, was to deepen understanding of sustainable products and services and to discuss the processes taking place in this area. With the participation of marketing director Gregor Franič, ATech joined the debatte as an active member of the organization,developing and producing sustainable products.

Participants of the meeting were forst welcomed by Prof. Danica Purg, President of the UN Global Compact Slovenia and President of the IEDC-Bled School of Management. Dr. Nadya Zhexembayeva, vice president of UNGC Slovenia and executive Director of the one-year MBA study at the IEDC-Bled School of Management then shared some examples of good practices, followed by "Sustainable Development Strategy as part of the Mercator Group" presentation, prepared by representatives of the Mercator Group, Vera Aljančič Falež, member of Manager board, and Lučka Kavkler, head of environmental protection.

The purpose of the evetnt was to draw links between knowledge, networking and inspiration, and to stimulate a debate on the concrete and innovative projects. Sustainable products and services offer a range of untapped opportunities to achieve comparable cost benefits and better results in terms of impacts on the environment and society. ATech is persuing this through FUMIS; its latest product line.
