JOHNSON CONTROLS

THE CHALLENGE

A producer of high-quality valves for the air conditioning of large buildings foundthat its new valve control technology involving brushless motors was not competitive. Cost analysis showed that the electronics were too expensive, so the producer started looking for know-how and a solution to optimise it.

THE SOLUTION

ATech applies its own control algorithms to the product, thus optimising the system by using a high-performance DSP processor. The choice of the processor is crucial and, from this point on, there is no turning back. The development of the electronic circuit and application follows. The development of the concept takes 6 months and the optimisation is carried out in cooperation with the customer. After the first prototypes are made, there is a period of testing and building new prototypes. Production begins a year after the initial idea.

THE CHALLENGE

The world’s leading producer of biomass heating stoves was losing its position as a market leader because its product range was similar to the competitors’. The client was searching for a new stove heating control system that could optimise the stove’s working efficiency, improve end-users’ comfort and help the company enter new market segments by differentiating its stoves from those of the competitors.

THE SOLUTION

ATech introduced Fumis Alpha – a heating control system with optimum combustion control and an innovative, ergonomic and user-friendly design. The Fumis controller was the first on the pellet stove market to have a touch user interface, which had a positive impact on the company’s image and brand recognition.

HYLA

THE CHALLENGE

HYLA wanted to launch a high-end vacuum cleaner that could solve the problem of allergens in the air. A cleaner that would be simultaneously efficient and silent, and provide the end-user with additional features in order to increase the user experience and distinguish Hyla from the competition.

THE SOLUTION

ATech developed an intelligent motor control with a Radio Frequency (RF) remote control. The new electronic control system enabled Hyla’s vacuum cleaner to operate with maximum efficiency with only 850 W motor power with additional functions such as soft start, intelligent brush and safety & logic functions. The RF remote control enabled the end-user to switch the vacuum cleaner ON from a distance and let it function as an air cleaner. This additional feature gave the end-user a maximum user experience and increased the value of the vacuum cleaner.

OUR PARTNERSHIP

The combination of ATech’s innovative electronics solution and Hyla’s vacuum cleaner working principles resulted in a completely new product – a vacuum cleaner that not only cleans the room but also the air. Hyla has positioned itself as a room and air cleaner, thereby opening up a completely new niche market with Hyla in the premium position. The new electronic control enabled Hyla to add new functionalities to its vacuum cleaner, which placed Hyla as a high-end producer with increased sales and bigger margins.

THE CHALLENGE

As a supplier of braking systems, transmissions, powertrain and body parts to the automotive industry, Cimos wanted to add a new range of more complex products to its existing product portfolio. It needed a strategic R&D partner to help it develop an electric parking brake.

ATech implemented its advanced motor control algorithms and CAN communication experience into a very compact electronic assembly. Additional functionalities, superior performance and reduced energy consumption provided Cimos with an important competitive advantage over other systems on the market.
